Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee received the Bangla Academy Award. From this year onwards, the West Bengal Bangla Academy’s ‘Retrievership’ award has been launched. Standing on the stage, Education Minister and Chairman of Bangla Academy Bratya Basu said, “Bangla Academy has decided to reward those who are working tirelessly for literature besides working in other fields of society.” In the first year, it has been decided to give this award to Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her opinion on the best writer of Bengal. This award is being given for his literary achievements in general keeping in mind his book of poetry ‘Kabita Bitan’.
The Chief Minister was also present at the ‘Poet Pranam’ function organized by the state government. But he himself did not accept the award. State Minister for Information and Culture Indranil Sen stopped Bratya Basu in the middle while announcing the award to the Chief Minister.
He told Bratya that Bratya would accept the award on behalf of the Chief Minister. After that Indranil himself handed over the award to Bratya.
