Yamdrok Lake, Tibetan meaning “jasper lake”, is one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet, like coral branches, so it is also known as “above the coral lake” in Tibetan.

Mainly located in Shannan City, Tibet, Longkazi County, the middle section in Longkazi County and Gongga County, about 70 km southwest of Lhasa, and the Namucuo, the wrong and the three sacred lakes in Tibet, is the largest inland lake at the foot of the northern Himalayas, the beauty of the lake and the mountains, topping the southern Tibet. In June 2012, it was reported that a tourism project would be built, and Shannan City has instructed Langkazi County to stop the project immediately. The lake is calm and emerald blue, like a sapphire on the Shannan plateau.
