Every tyre tends to get worn out with time, and they need replacement often. The pattern of wearing of the tyres in your car will depict whether there is an issue in your vehicle. Thus, you must learn to read these signs of early problems so that you can prevent tyre wearing, increase the durability of tyres and also get any other damaged parts of your car early before it gets worse. So, these are few of the common patters of tread wearing and the cause behind them. 

Feather wear

The tyre gets rubbed against the road aggressively when the vehicle is driven at high speed at the corners. This results in feathered wear. Shoulder wear

Centre wear

The overinflated tyres show a centre pattern of wearing. It shows the level of pressure in the tyres is very high. Overinflated tyres get bulged at the centre more. Then the tyres roll on the bulge mostly. Thus, the tyre gets worn at the centre, and the side edges are left untouched. This is because the edges stay off the ground by the bulge in the overinflated tyres. Maintaining your tyres in good condition will not allow centre wearing. Cupped wear

The cupped pattern of wearing denotes attention for suspension. Repeated hopping movement results in cupping. The coil springs bouncing movement can get dampened by Struts and shock absorbers that are worn-out. The tyres start shaking as the parts of the suspension system start wearing at some tyre spots. The rubber piece can get gouged from the tyre, which is known as cupping. It appears to be bald spots or dips on the tread. It would help if you got the worn parts replaced by new ones. Occasionally unbalanced wheels wear in this pattern and hence, you must get them checked.

Camber wear

This pattern of wearing makes the tyre gets worn out at one side of the tyre. When you view the wheel from the front, the angle of tilting is the camber. It is termed as positive camber when the wheels get tilted to the exterior side at the top. It is termed as negative camber when the wheel gets tilted inwards. Wearing on a single tyre side occurs when the camber is not adjusted. The outer side of the tyre is more pressurised by an excess of positive camber.
