 The Admissions in MCA course is given on the basis of the merit list for an LPU distance program. The LPU distance MCA  in India offers admission on the basis of the merit list prepared.  If the entrance test is done then the examination is based on Mathematics and reasoning. There is a different exam pattern for each entrance test.

- BCA makes a base of the students till graduation and further MCA adds a specialized touch and specialization in the subjects studied in BCA.
- The duration of MCA course one to total three academic years . It is a full-time postgraduate course offered by LPU at a distance level. This course has been divided into six semesters for students flexibility to study various subjects . Each semester with the duration of six months each.
- The first year of this course focuses on the skill developments in computers and computer applications.
- The second year is aimed at providing a conceptual framework with aimed knowledge.
- The third year offers the specializations and project work with numerous functions.
