Rewire Your Brain for Success: 4 Tips to Master the Power of Your Mind

Given that the human brain weighs only 3 pounds, it’s easy to underrate its true power. Your brain processes an unprecedented 70,000 thoughts a day. To do so, it uses 100 billion neurons that connect at well over 500 trillion points.

Your brain is the main determinant of every aspect of your life. Without it, there’s no self and definitely no awareness of the world around you.

But, just like any other organ in your body, your brain doesn’t always function at its best. From time to time, you’ll need to rewire your brain to get the best out of it.

But how can you improve your brain power and achieve greater creativity and memory performance? Here are four suggestions.

1. Start Writing

Few activities are more effective at unlocking the true power of the mind than writing frequently. The act of writing increases your ability to think.

When you write by hand, the brain activates numerous networks of neurons that help it communicate. It sends signals through these networks, which are then translated into thoughts and actions.

Try as much as possible to write every day. That includes goal setting, journaling, blogging, and so on. It’s one of the surest ways to rewire your brain for success.

2. Try to Give Your Brain a Regular Workout

If you’re familiar with how neuroplasticity works, then you know that the brain is incredibly adaptable. Neuroplasticity focuses on the brain’s ability to learn new things, create new connections, and adapt to new circumstances.

You can rewire your brain to adapt to new useful experiences by engaging in neuroplasticity exercises. These include memory tasks, juggling, playing new instruments, learning new languages, challenging brain tasks like sudoku and crosswords, and more.

3. Exercise Regularly

Physical exercise boosts your heart rate and enhances blood flow to your brain. As a result, your concentration and memory performance improve.

Aim to do a few hours of physical exercise each week. You can alternate between jogging, swimming, cycling, and circuit training. Yoga is also highly effective in boosting mental awareness.

Try to mix up your workouts for optimal results. Doing the same exercise all the time slows your chances of enhancing your memory because your body can switch to autopilot during exercise.

4. Practice Healthy Eating

Eating the right kind of food at the recommended time is essential to enhancing your brainpower. Avoid skipping meals, as doing so can lower your concentration levels.

There are certain foods that are especially good for your brain. Fatty fish is at the top of that list. This type of fish includes herring, salmon, trout, sardines, and albacore tuna.

Keep in mind that 60 percent of your brain is made of fat, half of which is omega-3. Eating fatty fish thus helps build your brain and nerve cells.

Some other foods that are good for your brain include turmeric, blueberry, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, nuts, dark chocolate, and eggs.

Rewire Your Brain to Experience Better Performance

When it comes to success, your brain is your most powerful asset. That’s why you need to always look for new ways to enhance its health and performance. By putting into practice writing, exercising, mental workouts, and healthy eating, you can rewire your brain for success.
