Review of Baking For Today by Betty Crocker

Baking has become one of my hobbies, as it allows me to make delicious pastries. Before I started baking, I experimented with baking small amounts of cookies in a toaster. When I bought an oven, I started experimenting with different recipes that I really liked.

When I started baking, I also bought cookbooks to learn new recipes. Not all cookbook recipes are easy to follow. Often, unusual cooking terms are used or I don’t know the ingredients mentioned.

Fortunately, this is not the case with Betty Crocker’s Baking for Today. In this hardcover cookbook, the recipes are presented very clearly and with simple cooking terms. The ingredients are also easy to find, and most of them are basic baking ingredients that you can have at home. This is why this book has become my favorite pastry cookbook.

The book is divided into eight chapters, each with its own theme. It contains recipes for bread, cookies, cakes, pies, and desserts. There is something for everyone, and some recipes are also suitable for children, making them ideal for a family gathering.

Some of the recipes include pictures of the baked goods so you can get an idea of what they will look like.

In addition to the recipes, there are also several pages of helpful baking tips. One of the tips I learned was to soak the bread in milk, which makes the crust softer.

Each recipe is very well organized and clear. There is no need to guess how long each recipe takes; the total time needed for each recipe is clearly stated. The ingredients are listed on the left and the different steps are numbered. Unexpected tips are found at the end of each recipe. Nutritional information is found in the lower-left corner of the page.

With a total of 255 pages, you will never run out of baking recipes. The baked goods that I have prepared following the recipes in this book are much appreciated by my family. They are also much appreciated by my colleagues and friends.
