FIFA verdict, Brazil-Argentina will have to play that abandoned match

The match between Brazil and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers was stopped by the health department of the host Brazil immediately after the start of the game. The match was played on September 5 last year. It was stopped after 5 minutes. Brazil later wanted to play the match again but Argentina refused to play. Their argument is – ‘We were not wrong.’ In the end, Brazil came to the FIFA court.

FIFA discussed everything and decided on Monday that the match will be played between Brazil and Argentina. Both sides were also fined 50,000 Swiss francs. Although the amount of the fine was higher than before. Brazil was fined 250,000 Swiss francs, and Argentina was fined 150,000 Swiss francs.

FIFA’s appeals committee has reduced the fine to 50,000 Swiss francs at the request of both parties.

A statement from FIFA stated: “After reviewing all the allegations and credentials provided by the two teams, the FIFA Appeals Committee has decided that the match between the two teams will be rescheduled. The Swiss franc was fined.


From the Latin American region, both Brazil and Argentina have already secured the World Cup in Qatar. FIFA’s appeals committee said both sides had been notified of the decision.
