Church School A Gateway to Christian Religious Education

Christianity is one of the significant religions widely followed in the world by more than two billion people. The center of belief is on the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus Christ was born to Mary in Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem, born to a young virgin girl. Christians believe that this event was supernatural and had happened by the will and power of God, who sent Jesus Christ to Mary as a son by the Holy Spirit.

All the Christian believers tend to teach and deliver knowledge about their religion to their kids in the best possible way. Hence, they tend to start teaching the child about religion at a very young age. Christians who are very keen on the religious teachings of their kids tend to get their kids admitted to a church school.

What is a Church School?

A church school is any school that would have a special connection and bonding with a branch of a Christian Church. These schools have a strong emphasis and significance on the teachings of the religion. Church Schools usually prioritize religious teachings and rules and are mentioned there in their policy at the time of admission.

The first school opened in the United States of America was started by a Church and was mainly built to spread knowledge about Christianity. A school law was passed in the early’s 1647, which required the teaching, reading, and writing of scriptures to children in a school in Massachusetts. Hence, it derived a force behind the opening of various Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities.

When did these Church schools or Christian Parochial Schools begin?

In 1920, the National Union of Christian Schools (NUCS) was created, which took action and led to the creation and inauguration of the National Association of Christian Schools (NACS) in 1946. Later, In 1978, this turned into the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which now overlooks every school in the United States. Church schools are also known as parish or parochial schools. Christian parochial or church schools have a curriculum that includes religious teachings and methodologies for the students. They prioritize and make the spiritual teachings mandatory for each child.

How is a Church School beneficial for your child?

The aim and goal of a Christian School are to provide the best knowledge to the children in terms of everything: worldly life, religious life, and their purpose. A Church School offers religious classes and teachings, and it does not simply include the preachings of the Bible but also implements the teachings of the Bible in real worldly life. Christian schools teach young children to live life in the way of God and worship Him alone. The teachers at the Church School integrate Bible learning in every area of study.

A Christian Church School teaches both the teachings taught at the Church and the School. The parents who are willing to develop their child’s academics and religious skills tend to send them to a church school. It is indeed the best place to teach your child ethics, manners, and spiritual importance in life. Hence, sending your child to a church school at a young age can be very beneficial for him to get academic and religious teachings.

High-quality academics and stability:

Several religious or church schools offer a dual curriculum that includes both academics and religious learnings. Spiritual learnings can build a strong sense of faith and make you a better person at a very young age. These schools tend to offer great curriculum teachings according to the latest methodologies, and the church teachings provide great stability.

The comfort and care a child receives here are priceless. Christian schools are the best for young children in several ways. There are senior people such as priests and fathers of the churches who tend to become the role model of these young learners. The children are taught every possible thing that makes them and their character just like Jesus Christ!

The children are taught the importance of love, sharing, and caring for others. They are taught the importance of unity and coming together as a nation. How important it is for a Christian to have the best manners and ethics. All these things that matter the most in life are taught to young learners! Hence, the parents expect them to be well-groomed when they leave the school for better.

Gordon H. Clark once stated, “The school system that ignores God teaches its pupils to ignore God, and this is not neutrality? It is the worst form of antagonism, for it judges God as unimportant and irrelevant in human affairs? This is atheism.”

Benefits for the parents who send their children to a Christian church school:

Every parent wishes to see their child or children growing up into the best human beings. Education is an investment into the heart of a child. There is no other blessing for a Christian parent to see their child growing up loving and living in the way of Jesus Christ. The children who attend a church school are trained and pray on time. They know the value of religious practices and praying on time. They know how important it is to worship God. It is not only the children who will benefit from learning and spreading the teachings of the religion, but also the parent who took this initiative of sending the child to a Church school. God works in mysterious ways and will bring good to you for your good deed.

A few proverbs in the Bible clearly explain this.

As believers, there is a deeper responsibility to “train up a child in the way he should go; so that even when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” — John 7:38

“And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” — Hebrews 11:6

Christians believe that every school should have religious learning, and the child must be taught the importance of their religion at a very young age. The world now is drastically changing, and things are revolving around super fast. There is a lot that is good, and that is bad in this world. People wish for the best upbringing for their children. However, it is not possible every time.

Religious teachings can be very effective in guiding them to what is right and what is wrong. Children become God-fearing, honest, loving, caring and will avoid taking the wrong paths. Once they are taught about right and wrong, they will fear before going towards something illegal or wrong, both in terms of worldly and religious life.
Church Schools teach the importance of every single thing a child goes through in their life. Many parents believe the fact that sending their child to a church school will bring a drastic change in their child’s life and spirituality. Also, they will stay away from the evil and evil-doers, with faith in God and Jesus, always.
