General Description

The ISO150DUBR is a high-efficiency CAN Bus isolated transceiver designed by Texas Instruments. 

It has high bus fault protection of -27 V ~ 40 V, which plays a key role in protecting the device in case of high voltage affections. To guarantee overall insulation integrity during faults and throughout the whole long lifetime (25 years life at nominal operating voltage), the part is characterized for high isolation withstand voltage of 2500 VRMS.

The chip supports differentials transmit/receive capability to the bus and the CAN controller respectively and fully meets the standard ISO11898-2 specifications. The ISO150DUBR performs outstandingly even in a stringent industrial environment by featuring protection technology including short-circuit protection, over-voltage protection, thermal shutdown, and loss of ground protection. User Guidelines

Here are some guidelines Easybom suggests you observe carefully:

1. Given that the TXD pin of the device is relatively fragile internally lined up with VCC1, it is strongly recommended that an external pull-up resistor be implemented to ensure that the TXD pin is slanted to a recessive logic high level in order to avoid failure on the bus if the pin and TXD floats are out of the supervision of the microprocessor.

2. ISO1050 merely requires two outer bypass capacitors rather than multi external components to improve performance (like the opto-coupler-founded solution does).

3. To make sure that the device functions correctly from all data rates and supply voltages, it is highly advised that a 0.1-µF bypass capacitor be pulled in at both input and output pins as close as possible to the supply pins.
