Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez stated that his side look forward to giving a deserving guard of honour to the Copa Del Rey winners Real Betis ahead of their La Liga campaign this weekend.
“For us the theme of the corridor is clear. It is a sign of respect and sportsmanship. Betis deserves it. For me you have to think about something else, it’s respect and sportsmanship,” Xavi said.
“I have spoken with the players, they were in agreement. There are no problems,” the player-turned-coach informed.
Following a shocking exit in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final, Barca coach mentioned his charges lack no motivation before the clash against Betis, who will resume action since winning the Copa del Rey final against Valencia.
“We have a golden opportunity to secure the Champions League. We have a great opportunity to meet the minimum objectives of the club. We go with all the motivation.
“They come from winning the Copa and are confident. It will be difficult and we are prepared. We want the three points that certify the Champions for us.” Xavi concluded while hinting at revitalising the squad before the upcoming fixture.
