5 Things to Pack When You’re Traveling in a Motorhome

28

Motorhomes are the perfect mode of transport for many people; they provide the convenience of having everything you need on board, and this includes your belongings. Traveling by motorhome is a great way to travel since it also saves on accommodation costs and gives you the freedom to go wherever you want.

Modern motorhomes and camper vans are also very luxurious and full of modern conveniences – and that luxury and comfort can often bring a hefty price tag that the everyday person might not be able to afford. If you are considering buying a new motorhome specifically for your trip, you can even try AFO to help you finance your dream. In any case, before you buy your vehicle and set off on your journey, make sure you stock up on these items and pack them ready for your trip if you want to make the most of it.

Clothes

You should pack enough clothes for an unexpected weather change, so check the forecast before leaving. If you’re traveling to the city, pack a couple of nice outfits too. Also, pack a few extra clothes, in case you spill something on your clothes or if they get dirty while walking around.

Books

If your journey is likely to take a few weeks or longer, then it’s a good idea to take some books with you, usually at least one per week per person. Don’t forget kids’ books if you have little ones traveling with you too!

Whether you’re traveling alone or with others, take a book to read on the way, or bring a few novels if they are written on the subject of your trip. If you have time, why not try studying some of the languages that you will be speaking on your trip?

Entertainment

Whether this is board games, cards, or even an easel and paints for kids, packing some entertainment for downtime is a good idea. Take your favorite DVDs, magazines, or old radio with you so you can listen to music or the news and keep up with what’s happening back home.

Food and Water

It’s a good idea to take enough food with you to last the trip and to keep you fed while traveling. However, don’t just take junk – pack snacks and healthy food so that you don’t need to stop at every fast food place on your way.

Plus, always take some drinking water with you, so you don’t need to buy bottled water all the time. If the water is safe in the area where you’re traveling, it’s best not to drink bottled water unnecessarily, which adds to the single-use plastic problem.

Medical and First Aid Kit

Take a first aid kit as well as any medication that you might need on your trip. It’s also a good idea to buy some sort of pain-relieving spray for accidents that can be used for headaches etc.

Waterproof bags or cases for medications are also very useful for keeping your medication dry and safe, so be sure to pack a few before heading off on your trip.
